Educational Objectives
This symposium is designed to provide scientists and clinicians with the most updated research in the integration of biomarkers in the detection and treatment of cardiovascular disease. To this end, the specific aims of the symposium are:
• To transfer well-validated, integrated biomarkers from research centers and clinical centers of excellence to standard clinical practice
• To improve and accelerate the development of novel biomarkers for optimal drug design • To identify how the use of integration of biomarkers obtained by use of different methodological approaches can increase their predictive value for the individual patient as well as for specific drug development and drug assessment • To recognize and reduce uncertainty in the use of integrated biomarkers in research and clinical practice • To evaluate and consolidate criteria for the definition and acceptance of integrated biomarkers to meet the different needs of basic scientists from academia and pharma, clinicians, and regulatory agencies |
